During this year's September Festival, the Rotary Club of St Ives held, for the eleventh year running, their annual 'Spot the Artist' Exhibition and Sale. On Friday 15th and Saturday 16th prior viewing of the works for sale was possible at the St Ives School of Painting, Porthmeor Studios. It raised considerable attention from local enthusiasts and festival goers alike.

Three exhibitions open simultaneously in the Penwith Gallery to coincide with the St Ives Festival. In addition to the customary September exhibition of the Penwith Society members in the Main Gallery, the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts is showing in the New Gallery for the first time. These are further enhanced with a combined ceramics and photographic show from Paula Downing and Antony Hosking in the Studio Gallery

Plymouth’s latest offsite exhibition is now open and features works by selected members of the Plymouth Society of Artists. This is the first in a series of exhibitions that will be staged on the ground floor of the Council House while the Museum and Art Gallery building is closed for redevelopment.

Artists of the South West Academy, together with new Academicians and Associates, bring together a body of work for its second successive Winter Exhibition at the Thelma Hulbert Gallery in Honiton. The show celebrates a wide selection of work, giving an insight into the expertise and technical skills of established members and new appointments alike, focusing on painting, photography, printmaking and ceramics. The Gallery looks to become a regular in the calendar of Academy shows.
