Following the closed period of January the Penwith Society opened its doors for the start of the 2017 season with a blockbuster show of three distinct exhibitions launching simultaneously on 10 February, an exhilarating evening worthy of the gallery’s undoubted reputation.

Plymouth’s latest offsite exhibition is now open and features works by selected members of the Plymouth Society of Artists. This is the first in a series of exhibitions that will be staged on the ground floor of the Council House while the Museum and Art Gallery building is closed for redevelopment.

Artists of the South West Academy, together with new Academicians and Associates, bring together a body of work for its second successive Winter Exhibition at the Thelma Hulbert Gallery in Honiton. The show celebrates a wide selection of work, giving an insight into the expertise and technical skills of established members and new appointments alike, focusing on painting, photography, printmaking and ceramics. The Gallery looks to become a regular in the calendar of Academy shows.

Now in its 10th year the St Ives Rotary Club held another highly successful exhibition of postcard paintings to coincide with the 2016 St Ives September Festival, raising a record sum for local arts charities and Rotary Club good causes alike.
