The third show the Society had planned for 2020 has successfully opened where two others, scheduled for earlier springtime months, had been adversely effected by national restrictions.

Following the easing of restrictions brought about by the Covid 19 pandemic the Penwith Gallery opens its doors to the public once again with a new exhibition by the members.

The Plymouth Society’s show scheduled to open in the Penwith Gallery, St Ives on 11 April has been postponed for this year following the nationwide instruction to close all galleries whilst the pandemic condition remains.

The 21 Group of Artists open their annual exhibition in Birdwood House, Totnes with a stimulating mix of paintings and prints in a variety of media. Recently invited to join this exclusive co-operative, it is my first opportunity to show with them.

Two important exhibitions highlighting the formative years of the Penwith Society of Arts in Cornwall run in conjunction with the present-day members showing in the Society’s Main Gallery. The exhibition in Penlee House Gallery and Museum, Penzance, concerns the period from 1949 to 1960, the second two decades are on show in the Society’s New Gallery in St Ives.
